Busy mid-September week
This week our research team members and collaborators were busy presenting research papers and discussing about new projects in Milan, Hamburg, Brussels and Puebla.
This week has been a busy one for CBRA research team and collaborators! On Tuesday, Toni was presenting on “Airmail risk profiling and big data” at an aviation security conference in Milan-Malpensa, Italy. On Thursday and Friday Sangeeta joined HICL2014 conference in Hamburg, Germany, presenting FP7-CASSANDRA paper “A literature-based qualitative framework for assessment of socio-economic negative impacts of common illicit cross-border freight logistics flows” as well as FP7-CWIT paper “A new research protocol to develop multiple case studies on illicit activities in trade, logistics, processing and disposal of WEEE – waste in electrical and electronic equipment” – both these under the research umbrella of supply chain security management. Both Toni and Sangeeta were asked interesting questions, while receiving good feedback after their presentations. Then, Perttu and Pete joined with TNO the kick-off meeting for a future oriented new air cargo screening study at a customer location in Brussels, Belgium. This meeting took place on Thursday, followed by TNO-CBRA –meeting on Friday at TNO facilities in Delft, the Netherlands. I have played this week an active role at PICARD2014 conference in Puebla, Mexico, this week. More details of my Mexican adventures will follow in the next blog entry, sometime next week. Have a great weekend everyone, Juha.
