PICARD2015, Baku
The 10th annual PICARD conference will be organized 8-10.9.2015 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Here you find the call for papers–invitation.
As mentioned already in our blog entry of 23.9.2014, the 10th annual PICARD conference will be organized 8-10.9.2015 in Baku, Azerbaijan. As many of you would know, PICARD stands for “Partnerships in Customs Academia Research and Development” – a successful initiative which was founded around year 2004 by the WCO and a handful of forward-looking academic and research institutions.
The conference in particular welcomes attendance from anthropologists, economists, geographers, historians, lawyers and political scientists – special interest being towards interdisciplinary approaches regarding contemporary systems of regulation and control at borders. Papers should focus on Customs administrations, or, more globally on the regulations, dynamics and practices of the international trade and logistics of goods. The Scientific Board for WCO, consisting of Emmanuel Brunet-Jailly, Mick Moore, Cedric Parizot, Gael Raballand, and myself, Juha Hintsa, will play a role in selection of papers.

See you all in Baku on 8.9.2015 – looking forward to the tenth consecutive participation in the PICARD conferences! Cheers, Juha
